Musings from the Edge of the Sky — 3I/ATLAS, Rabbit Holes & Revelation Chips
Come, Let Us Reason Together (But Maybe Bring a Telescope, Too)
Well fam, it seems we’ve got company.
No, not the kind of company you’re thinking of. (although the neighborhood stray cats have been holding nightly board meetings on our porch like they pay rent.) This time, we’re talking about a real interstellar visitor. There’s a comet called 3I/ATLAS, zipping in from parts unknown, making a brief cameo near Mars, and then heading back out into deep space as if it left something behind in the Milky Way parking lot.
Now before we break out the shofars and bug-out bags, let’s be clear: it’s not headed for Earth. It's just doing a solar system drive-by. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth pondering…
You see, Scripture gives us a holy permission slip to ask questions, muse, and even wonder. “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord in Isaiah 1:18. And if that isn’t biblical approval to tilt our heads and say, “Now wait just a minute…” then I don’t know what is.

Comets, Chariots & the Curious Case of Space Carpooling
So here’s the scoop: this thing is big. And fast. And it’s not from around here.
Scientists call it interstellar, which basically means they don’t know where it came from, but it’s not from our neighborhood. The coma, or the fuzzy outer layer, of 3I/ATLAS is about twice the size of Earth, which is a huge amount of ice and gas. The core might only be a few kilometers wide, but it’s dressed up like it wants to impress at a solar prom.
It’s trailing carbon dioxide and water—two elements that just happen to be critical for life. Some people wonder if that’s just a coincidence or maybe a sign from the universe. Others are joking about whether this could be the next version of Enoch’s ride to heaven.
(Insert a knowing church laugh here.)
Now, let’s not forget, Elijah was taken up in a chariot of fire (2 Kings 2:11), Enoch walked with God and was not (Genesis 5:24), and Jesus ascended on a cloud (Acts 1:9). So the idea of heaven using transportation is not new. But here’s the thing:
If you have to walk up a ramp, show ID, or sign a waiver, that ain’t the Rapture.
The real event happens in the blink of an eye, just like 1 Corinthians 15:52 says. There are no boarding passes or countdown clocks. It’s simply God calling His people home at the right time.

Now Enter the Rabbit Hole Wing of the Blog Museum
Let’s say, hypothetically:
  • Fallen angels got evicted from heaven (Isaiah 14:12, Revelation 12:9) and needed new rides.
  • Earth’s elite started partnering with “interstellar ambassadors” with suspiciously good timing.
  • Someone shows up claiming to bring peace but comes with a lot of glitter, glow, and government paperwork.
Scripture warns us about a great deception—something so slick, even the elect could be fooled (Matthew 24:24). That could involve signs from the sky, fire falling from heaven, or maybe an overproduced cosmic TED Talk.
Revelation 13 talks about a beast system that dazzles the world, calls down fire, and demands worship. Not your average Sunday service.
So when a space rock comes in with more stage presence than a stadium spotlight, we pay attention—but we don’t panic.

The Receipts: What We Know
  • 3I/ATLAS will pass Mars closely around October 3, 2025.
  • They say it won’t come close to Earth. At closest, it’ll be over 1.7 AU away (that's about 160+ million miles—safe enough to not even cancel your brunch plans).
  • It’s not our first space visitor. We’ve had ‘Oumuamua and Borisov in recent years. But this one’s got flair.
  • It's trailing life-signature elements like H₂O and CO₂, but so far, no angelic choir or cosmic coffee samples have been detected.
More interestingly, it arrives right in a season of increasing global alignment, planetary conjunctions, and prophetic expectation. Hmm.
And there are more rocks on the way—Apophis and others scheduled for flybys in the next 7 years.
That number again: seven. Just saying.

Warnings & Wisdom: How to Prep (Without Losing Your Chill)
Here’s your ShellMiddy-approved prophetic prep list:
  • 🕯️ Oil Check: Keep your lamp full (Matthew 25). Stay prayed up, praised up, and prepped in the Word.
  • 🧠 Discernment: Test the spirits. If it looks cool but contradicts Christ, hit “unfollow.”
  • 🫂 Community: Don’t go solo. Meet with others, online or IRL. Discern together.
  • 📖 Know the Word: Hide it in your heart now—in case the apps or the Bibles disappear later (Psalm 119:11).
  • 😆 Keep Your Joy: A merry heart really does good like medicine (Proverbs 17:22). Even during global weirdness.
And remember: not everything that glows is glory.

Final Thoughts from the Dock of the Universe
We may not know exactly what 3I/ATLAS is… but we know this:
“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12
“We know in part, and we prophesy in part…” – 1 Corinthians 13:9
“Come, let us reason together…” – Isaiah 1:18
So stay curious. Stay ready. And if someone offers you a ride on a glowing sky-bus with a contract and a disclosure form… smile politely, and keep your feet on the Rock.
In the meantime, we’ll be watching the heavens, working the harvest, and maybe just a little more selective about what we call "friendly skies."
