🔥🐎🖤
February 2026 marks a time when several routine astronomical cycles occur simultaneously in a remarkable way, prompting us to wonder and reflect.
The Year of the Fire Horse will start.
A “ring of fire” solar eclipse will darken the sky.
Ash Wednesday will call the church to repentance.
Fire.
A red horse.
A darkened sun.
Ash upon the forehead.
Some will wonder what it all means.
Others may dismiss it.
Scripture calls us to something better:
Prepare.
Not by decoding timelines.
Not by predicting catastrophe.
But by examining our hearts before God.
🐎 The Horse: Power Under Heaven
What Does the Bible Say About Horses and Power?
In the Bible, the horse represents mobilized power.
"Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. warns against trusting in horses and chariots."
Zechariah sees red horses patrolling the earth under God’s authority.
Revelation shows a fiery red horse removing peace when the Lamb opens a seal.
The lesson is not meant to be mysterious just for the sake of it.
It is a call to live responsibly before the One who loves you.
Power answers to Heaven.
When peace is lifted, human violence reveals itself.
When restraint loosens, what is in the heart comes to the surface.
If the world feels uncertain, God invites you to let go of fear and come closer to Him with repentance and trust.

🔥 Fire: Testing
Fire in Scripture: Refining
Fire in Scripture is never merely decorative.
It purifies.
It tests.
It reveals.
Malachi speaks of a refiner’s fire.
Paul writes that each person’s work will be tested by fire (1 Corinthians 3).
1 Corinthians 3;13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
A ring of fire eclipse is dramatic to see. The light is hidden, and fire seems to outline the darkness.
But the message in Scripture goes deeper than astronomy.
What survives the fire?
Not institutions.
Not empires.
Not pride.
Only what is built on Christ remains.
If we see fire imagery in our culture right now, the question is not,
“What does this predict?”
The question is,
“Lord, what in me do You want to refine?”
🌑 The Darkened Sun: A Reminder
The Bible does speak of cosmic signs.
Joel describes the sun turned to darkness.
Jesus speaks of signs in the sun, moon, and stars.
Revelation portrays the sun as black as sackcloth.
These are not routine celestial cycles. They accompany profound upheaval.
But not every eclipse means the end times are here.
Still, when the sky grows dark, remember in your heart:
Creation is not ultimate.
God governs the heavens.
Light itself answers to Him.
Let these times remind you:
You are not in control, but you are cared for by the One who is.
🖤 Ashes: The Proper Response
Ash Wednesday and the Call to Repentance
Ash Wednesday is a gentle and honest reminder that you need God.
“Remember that you are dust.”
It invites your soul to honest reflection.
Job repented in dust and ashes.
Nineveh fasted in ashes.
Daniel prayed with ashes.
Ash says:
Repentance is necessary.
You will stand before God.
You need mercy.
Fire may test the world.
Ash stands for humility and helps prepare your heart to receive mercy and hope.
Birth Pains or Simply a Reminder?
Jesus described the last days as “birth pains.”
Birth pains are not the end in themselves.
They are signs that history is moving toward its purpose.
Wars, earthquakes, and distress among nations are recurring realities.
Are we living in birth pains?
Perhaps.
But the command does not change.
“Be ready.”
Whether these events are signs or just part of a season, God already calls you to stay watchful.
We do not need a rare eclipse to justify repentance.
God’s invitation to repentance is always open.
Prepare Instead of Speculating
Some will try to assemble prophetic equations from calendars and cultural systems.
Others will wave it away as a coincidence.
Neither way helps your soul get ready.
A wiser response is more steady:
When fire, darkness, and ashes meet in your life or in the world,
prepare.
Examine your life.
Are you building your life on Christ, the solid rock, or on something that shifts like sand?
Is your trust in horses or in the Lord?
Is your faith casual, or are you watchful and looking forward to what God will do?
What Truly Endures
1 Corinthians 3 reminds us:
The fire will test what sort of work each one has done.
Not how intense the headlines were.
Not how many eclipses occurred.
Not which year it was on a zodiac chart.
What remains after fire burns away the dross is refined gold.
Only what is done in Christ will last.

The True Urgency
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
That was urgent in the first century.
It is urgent now.
Not because of an eclipse.
Not because of a calendar alignment.
Because Jesus, the King, is real and present with you.
Judgment is certain.
Mercy is available.
Be urgent, but do not speculate.
Let your watchfulness be full of hope, not fear.
Let your confidence rest in Christ, never in complacency.
A Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the One who opens the seals,
The Rider who returns in righteousness,
The Light no darkness can extinguish.
If our works are straw, refine us.
If our pride is thick, humble us in ash.
If our trust is misplaced, redirect it.
Teach us to prepare without panic.
To watch without hysteria.
To repent without delay.
Let what we build be built in You.
For only what is done in Christ will stand when the fire has passed.
Amen.
